What makes a truly lasting experience?

The mission of a subtle note is to impact the lives of diverse communities by presenting high-caliber choral music focused on a wide variety of topics including core values, those rarely explored in choral music, and the world we live in.

a subtle note is a professional choir based in LOCATION TBD, New Jersey. Started from an annual church performance at a local church by friends and colleagues, a subtle note has turned into a pillar in the lives of its members. Composed of artists with a diverse set of skills and a wide range of expertise, we seek out repertoire that embodies this potential. Collaborating with artists of many disciplines, we produce refreshing interpretations of music old and newly composed to create unique and intimate musical experiences that foster deep conversation between artists, audience, and the world around us.

  • Currently living and working in Southern New Jersey with his German shepherd/Corgi mix dog named Oscar, Dan is a graduate of Rowan University where he received a B.A. in Voice. Dan is an active performer as a choral singer and soloist the Mid-Atlantic. He has performed with the Rowan University Concert Choir, Voces XII (an early music ensemble at Rowan), South Jersey Choral Artists, and various other ensembles. Dan is currently a staff singer at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish in Northfield, NJ.

    Additionally, Dan has worked in the marching activity as a percussion composer/arranger, sound designer, consultant, clinician, and instructor for countless ensembles in the area including Williamstown High School (NJ), Kingsway Regional High School (NJ), Sunrisers Drum and Bugle Corps (DCA), and Imperial Dynasty Indoor Drumline (WGI). During his free time Dan spends time as a freelance photographer visiting various parks, landmarks, and music events.

  • Sarah Robbins (Beggar Woman): Sarah is thrilled to be making her BCFL debut in Sweeney Todd! Favorite credits include Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte, Serpina in La serva padrona, and Fantine in Les Miserables. She graduated from Rowan University in 2021 with a degree in Vocal Music Education, and frequently performs as a soloist and chorister in the tristate area. Off the stage, Sarah teaches elementary music in Mantua Township and directs a church choir in Woodbury Heights. Sarah would like to thank her family, friends, and students for their support and enthusiasm in pursuing musical dreams.
